He graduated from University College Hospital and decided on a career in General Surgery with a specialist interest in HPB surgery. His training was carried out in London mainly working at University College Hospital, The Royal Free Hospital, St Bartholomew’s Hospital and the Royal London Hospital. He also travelled abroad to gain laparoscopic HPB experience at the Mayo Clinic, USA
Working as a consultant emergency surgeon means that Mr Bond-Smith can assess many acute abdominal problems such as appendicitis, abscesses and hernia problems. With an interest in HPB surgery, any gallbladder pathology e.g. gallstones or an inflamed gallbladder or even associated liver and pancreatic problems can also be assessed and management plans organised.
